On the 18th of February we had a class outing. We visited the Bodies Exhibition in the Ambassador, the Hugh Lane Gallery and the Science Gallery in Trinity College.
We met on Wednesday morning at 10:30 outside the Ambassador Theatre. We walked around the exhibition and saw real life bodies cut open which i found very interesting. It was a once in a life time experience which everyone should experience in my opinion.
We then went to the Hugh Lane Gallery. There we saw many unusual (and very expensive) paintings. A funny tour guide explained some of the history of the artists and paintings which had us all laughing. We all bought something small in the gift shop to remember the day. I bought this card:
After that we went to Mc Donalds for some food and hit Starbucks before going to Trinity to the Science Gallery to see the lightwave exhibition. It was very interesting the things you can do with light We all really enjoyed the dark tent with the bean bags and LED lights.
It was a very enjoyable day

In class Niamh asked us to get into groups and to think of a story which we would then have to tell with a series of pictures. We drew up a story board. Our story was topic was to do with crime.
In our story a boy takes cocaine and then robs a girl as she is getting money out of an ATM.
In my group there was me Kellyann, Adam and Stepehen.

Todayt our visual language class went to The Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin. We met Niamh and Stephen at 1 o’clock. We split up into 2 groups. One group done visual language and the other done digital photography. In the visual language part we drew things that intrested us,we were giving instructions by Niamh to follow. We were to draw contour, blind contour drawings, negetitve space, texture thumbnail sketches and patterns from what we saw in the gardens.We all finished at 4.30.

In todays class we painted. We cut out stencils and painted with colours which complement each other..Niamh took us to the canteen were we had space to paint.

The first part of this morning we had a look at what visual language is. We then had to do an excerise matching up pictures using the visual language.
After that we went on and drew pictures such as shading,outline of our shapes and we finally scanned our pictures …
